Training Course with Senior Master Yeo Chin-Haut
and Senior Master Les Hutchison
The UKTC hosted a one-day training course with Senior Master Yeo Chin-Haut from Sweden and special guest instructor Senior Master Les Hutchison, Vice-President ITF Scotland in Edinburgh on 4 February 2012. Well done to all the students who attended what was an exhausting but very enjoyable course. Pictures taken on the day are now available to view on our gallery pages.

BITF Umpire and Instructor Seminar
The British Isles TaeKwon-Do Federation have
scheduled a two day umpire and instructor
seminar for Saturday 31 March 2012 and
Sunday 1 April 2012 at the Addiewell
Community Centre, West Lothian. All students
from blue belt upwards are welcome to
attend.
International Seminar and Grading -
Paphos Cyprus
Senior Master Hutchison, 8th Degree will
host a technical seminar and grading in
Paphos, Cyprus on Saturday 9th and Sunday
10th June 2012. Hotel information has
now been issued to students, the cost for
the seminar is 100 Euros.

Blue, Red and Black
Belt Training - North Kessock
Senior Master Hutchison hosted an advanced
Blue, Red and Black Belt training session in
Inverness on 21 January 2012. The next
scheduled Inverness session has been
confirmed for Sunday 19 February 2012,
9:00am till 12:00pm. All students from
blue tag to black belt are welcome to
attend.

- Addiewell
A seminar
and grading was held at the Addiewell Community Centre on Sunday 28 August 2011.
Senior Master Hutchison would like to thank the students for their attendance

ITF Seminar and Grading
- Cyprus
Senior Master Hutchison conducted a
two day training seminar in Pafos, Cyprus at the Hwa Rang TaeKwon-Do school,
with President Marinos Stefanou, the resident instructor.
Here is Senior Master Hutchison's
report: The seminar was very well attended in the 95 degree heat, with 85
students ranging from yellow belt to black belt 5th Degree.
The seminar was officially opened by
the mayor of Pafos, with the national Cypriot TV channel recording the event
which was then aired on the television in the evening. Local and national
newspapers also covered the proceedings. All the kids performed Tul for
the TV and was finalised with a demonstration on Tul and self defence and
various breaking techniques by Senior Master Hutchison.
The training started with many different stretching methods and then onto
fundamental exercise. Three step sparring, two step and one step were all
performed by the students to a high standard, and then on to self defence to
finish the first day.
On day two the students performed Tul and more fundamental movements, then on to
kicking, flying, and jumping techniques. The students tried various braking
techniques, before finishing with a black belt grading. The day ended with a
promotion dinner at a local fish restaurant.
I would like to thank the Cyprus president Lefteris and resident Instructor
Marinos Stefanou for the invitation and a unforgettable experience, and look
forward to the next time.

ITF Seminar and Grading
- Inverness
Senior Master Hutchison held a seminar
and grading at the North Kessock Community Centre,
Inverness on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June 2011.
Congratulations to the 51 students who
were promoted over the two days including the 19 students who received an "A"
pass mark.

was held on 26th and 27th March 2011 at the Addiewell Community
Centre, West Lothian. The seminar was hosted by Senior Master

UKTC British Championships 2009
The UKTC British Championships was held at the Meadowbank Sports Centre,
Edinburgh on 22 November 2009. Congratulations to Christine McMinigal who won
Gold for patterns and Gold for sparring in the female over 18-years-old red belt
categories, to Stevi-Lee Orr who took Silver for patterns in the female over
18-years-old black belt category and to Ross Bollan who won Bronze for patterns
and Bronze for sparring in the male over 18-years-old black belt categories.
UKTA British Championships 2009
The UKTA British Championships was held at the Kelvin Hall, Glasgow on 7
November 2009. Congratulations to Stevi-Lee Orr who won Gold in the female over
18-years-old black belt patterns category, to Tommy Walsh who took Silver in the
male heavy weight sparring category and to Luke Foss who won 3 Gold's in the
under 13's black belt sparring, patterns and special technique categories. Well
done also to blue belts Steve Magson and son William who competed very well but
narrowly missed out on the medal positions. |

ITF World Championships 2009
The ITF World Championships were held in St Petersburg, Russia on the 14th to
17th October. Master Hutchison participated in both the umpires technical
seminars and congress meeting before attending the competition, working as jury
president. Once again the championship boasted a very high standard of
competitor from the 83 countries who attended.

Sparring Seminar - North Kessock
Master Hutchison held a sparring seminar for Inverness students at the North
Kessock Community Centre on the 19 September 2009. The students were introduced
to various sparring drills and techniques before going on to perform one to one
sparring. Master Hutchison would like to thank school Instructor Claire Crosbie,
and also his black belt Academy student Luke Foss for assisting him on the day.

Black Belt Promotion
 Claire Hutchison has successfully passed her black belt first Dan in TaeKwon-Do.
Claire has been training for 5 years with her dad Senior Master Hutchison, so
she and her family are following in his footsteps.
Claire's children are also into the
art; Sean is 11 years old and is one step from black belt , while sister Caitlin
is 9 years old and is 3rd Kup. Kaiden the youngest at 2 years old has just
started and is white belt.
Claire has been training hard for five
years and has her own kids class and thoroughly enjoys the training. Her brother
Gary is also a black belt 4th Dan.
Senior Master Hutchison said "I am
very proud of all my family's achievements and would like more families to join
to sport". |
